Naval
Architects Hannu Jukola and Anders Skogman
presented a paper called Bollard Pull
at the ITS 2002 Convention, in May 2002.
The paper - based on the long experience
the authors have of bollard pull testing
- attempted to clarify terms widely used,
but seldom completely understood, with regard
to bollard pull and bollard pull trials.
It also gave a thorough insight into which
elements have an influence on the bollard
pull result and should be considered when
testing.
The
paper was also a first effort to stir a
discussion regarding bollard pull, with
a widely recognised "international bollard
pull code" - a first proposal of which was
included in the printed paper - as the ultimate
target.
