Azimuth Stern Drive Tugs

PROPULSOR INSTALLATION

Minimum distance between the units as well as between the side and the units are 500 mm The tug beam should be designed to allow the required units to be installed accordingly.

Distance between the
Propulsor Units

In order to improve the overall performance, especially the manoeuvrability of the tug, the unit should be installed as far from each other as possible. Minimum recommended distance between the units is the unit turning diameter + 500 mm.

It is also recommended that the distance from the vessel side to the unit centre is more than ½ unit turning diameter + 500 mm, in order to prevent the units from touching jetties or assisted vessels even when heeling.
