The
operator interface is the main source of information
in both normal and also abnormal operation situations.
Therefore Steerprop has put a lot of emphasis to
make it as easy and informative as possible. The
different indications are also described in detail
in the service and operation manuals in order to
aid the operator as well as service and maintenance
personnel to maintain the system. The service and
instruction manuals also provide detailed information
required to acquire spare parts and components from
local or international suppliers.
System Monitoring
The
control system comprises a data log for a lot of
different data in order to e.g. help building and
following a preventive maintenance programme. Amongst
logged data is running hours, load distribution,
steering and clutch operation - records that can
be used e.g. for service and maintenance scheduling.
All alarms and last alarms with time labels are
also continuously recorded.
Remote Expert Assistance for Service and Fault
Finding
One great advantage is remote service assistance.
The basic system gives possibility to connect a
remote expert via a mobile phone to the control
system and follow its operation. Of course it is
possible to send software updates and records via
email - or snailmail as memory units - from experts
to local service and vice versa.
