First Steerprop Vessel
"M.P.S. River Aria" started operations

Early August 2001 was the first Steerprop shipset, a pair of SP 10 CRPs, delivered to Scheepswerf De Hoop Lobith under an extremely tight schedule. Only a week after the installation the river cruise vessel "M.P.S. River Aria" conducted its sea trials successfully and was commissioned to its owners, Grand Circle Cruise Lines of Boston, USA.

"M.P.S River Aria" has since then operated on the European river systems on weekly cruises.

The Steerprop SP 10 CRP propulsors comprises the dual-end contra-rotating propellers, enabling shallow draft and excellent fuel economy. The propulsors have been designed for a main engine power of 808 kW each.
