The
Steerprop unit ready to be installed onboard
the vessel
|
Early
August 2001 was the first Steerprop shipset,
a pair of SP 10 CRPs, delivered to Scheepswerf
De Hoop Lobith under an extremely tight schedule.
Only a week after the installation the river
cruise vessel "M.P.S. River Aria"
conducted its sea trials successfully and was
commissioned to its owners, Grand Circle Cruise
Lines of Boston, USA.

"M.P.S River Aria" has since then
operated on the European river systems on weekly
cruises.
The
Steerprop SP 10 CRP propulsors comprises the
dual-end contra-rotating propellers, enabling
shallow draft and excellent fuel economy. The
propulsors have been designed for a main engine
power of 808 kW each.
