Østensjø Rederi AS Commissioned
ROV Survey Vessel Edda Fonn

Myklebust Verft AS - a part of Kleven Maritime - recently delivered the taylor made ROV survey Vessel Edda Fonn to the owners, Norwegian Østensjø Rederi AS.

The vessel, designed by Skipsteknisk AS in Aalesund, Norway with emphasis on high performance, low emission, efficiency, safety and economy.

Edda Fonn is specially designed for worldwide operations in all conditions and with excellent manoeuverability and station keeping capabilities.

For main propulsion as well as dynamic positioning of the vessel, the owners chose Steerprop SP 35 CRP azimuth propulsors with contra-rotating propellers. The propeller diameters are 3.5 m (fwd) and 2.8 m (aft).

The vessel is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system with two primary movers, each of 2200 kW, driving the Steerprop units.

is one of the oldest Norwegian ship owner within offshore supply and service vessels. The company was established in 1973 and have since ordered 25 newbuildings. The company is also heavy involved in tug services and operate today 16 tugs.
